Uniforms and Jackets

We will be bringing the uniforms to class for you to purchase for your child. If sizes run out. then you will be able to order what you need and this will arrive in 6 – 8 weeks (probably just in time for term 2).

The only day the uniforms won’t be at class is Thursday the 21st at Pennant Hills. If you are from Pennant Hills and need a new uniform, please pop in Monday or Tuesday.

If you are from Kellyville and missed the uniforms Monday and Tuesday this week, please come in Thursday or Friday.

Don’t forget to order your jackets to! This will be the only time this year to order jackets!

Payment and missed lessons

Just a reminder that payment must be paid by the due date to avoid the late fees. If your child has enrolled for class, then any missed lessons must still be paid for (or if you have already paid for those lessons, there are no refunds.

Make up lessons may be arranged for any missed lessons due to injuries and holidays. Any class may be taken as a make up lesson. This gives the students the opportunity to try something new. Make up lessons must be booked in at least a week before you plan on attending. Please send an email to confirm the lessons you would like your child to attend 🙂

If class numbers drop too low, we will either cancel the class, or there will be the opportunity to pay a little bit more than the standard class fee for the class to continue running. This is to ensure we cover our costs.

Viewing of classes

All parents are invited to view classes from:

– the windows/door when class is in the room at St Agatha’s
– the doors when class is in the hall at St Agatha’s
– the glass door when class is at William Clarke
– the doors/foyer in the MPC at Toongabbie

Mid year concert

We are so excited for our first ever mid year concert! (for all classes except mums and bubs). All costs for this will be kept low in comparison to our end of year concert. Students will perform in their uniforms and ticket prices will be lower. This will give the teachers and students something to work towards in term 1 and 2. Over the many years the dance school has been running, we have found the students LOVE the end of year concert but they always have to wait so long until the day is here. Having a mid year concert means the students only have to wait half a year for each concert! This will be in the MPC at Pacific Hills on the 14thJune – 4pm – 6pm and all family and friends are invited to come along and watch the students perform. There will be no stage rehearsal for this concert.

End of year changes

Instead of chocolate fundraising as we have done in the past, there will be a $15 trophy fee added to the term 4 invoices per child. I hope this is a better solution for everyone, instead of having to worry about selling all those chocolates!

The 7th – 13th of December in class time will be our trophy week. Parents are invited into the last 10 minutes of the classes to see the children receive their awards. If students do more than 1 class a week, they will be awarded their trophy in their first lesson of the week. That way you can organise to be there at the correct class, rather than having to be at every class and not knowing when they will get their trophy.

All students (except previous perpetual winners) will receive their trophies in class. Previous perpetual winners will receive their replacement trophies at the concert. And new perpetual trophies will also be awarded at the concert.

As the dance school is growing, especially with expanding to Toongabbie, the concert is getting slightly longer each year as well as there being more students to receive trophies so we are trying to cut down the concert length by awarding the trophies during class 🙂

During the stage rehearsal for the end of year concert, we will have our dress rehearsal and students will wear their costume for each dance. The dress rehearsal won’t be in class time anymore.

We will be having our photo day at this time as well. We will co ordinate the stage rehearsal/dress rehearsal and photo day timetables to work in with each other.

The photos will then be for sale online after the concert day. You will  be able to buy these and have them delivered to you.

We hope that it is more convenient for everyone to have the stage rehearsal, dress rehearsal, photo day and concert all on the same day. It is such a busy time of year so we have tried to make it easier by all the dance events being on the one day and then you can block out that one day for dance, rather than having the events on 4 different days 🙂

This will also be the opportunity to get your uniforms and shoes for the new year.

And a canteen will be open all day with snacks and drinks so please bring cash for this.

Medications

Please make sure you bring your child’s medication (puffers, epipens, etc) to class each week. If you would prefer for the teacher to look after this rather than having it in your child’s bag, we are more then happy to help. We have first aid kids but don’t carry epipens or puffers. In saying this, all our teachers are first aid trained and certified so are able to assist the students in administering their medications if needed.

Aerobics – NEW CLASS

We are so excited to have Aerobics Nationals Finalist – Miss Natalie – teach our Aerobics at Pennant Hills and Kellyville! Check out teamapp now to see what Aerobics is – we posted a video under the ‘news’ section.

The boys are more than welcome to join ANY class. But we also now offer:

AND
– Boys only pre school jazz and hip hop for 3 – 5 year olds at Kellyville on Saturdays 10:45 – 11:15

The boys will learn to dance in a fun environment with lots of games.

Mums and Bubs

Mums and bubs is a class for 1 1/2 – 2 1/2 year olds to do with their parent/guardian. Each term will be themed and the class will teach the basics of movement, dance and music whilst having lots of fun!

Pennant Hills – Saturdays – 8:30 – 9:00
Kellyville – Saturdays – 9:30 – 10:00

Please pass on our email or website to anyone you know that may be interested and we hope to see some of our current student’s youngest siblings joining in to.

Gates at William Clarke and pick up system for all locations

The gates will lock at a certain time of the evening. This is due to the bathrooms being outside. We wanted to make it as safe as possible (including sending students in pairs) for toilet breaks and the best way to do so was having these gates locked so that no one can get in or out of the premises without a key card. Please make sure your child arrives on time for class/you arrive on time to pick up your child so that the teacher only has to make one trip to open the gates.

All students must be picked up at their classroom door after class. Teachers must be able to see students leaving with their parent or guardian.

If the gates are locked at William Clarke, the teacher will bring the students out to be picked up.
